Head of Finance

Position Summary

The Head of Finance will be responsible for managing the financial actions of the company, including tracking cash flow and financial planning, as well as analyzing the company's financial strengths and weaknesses and proposing corrective actions. This role requires a deep understanding of financial management, strategic planning, and the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Key Responsibilities

- Financial Strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s growth and profitability goals.

- Budgeting: Oversee the preparation and management of the annual budget, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives.

- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports, including IFRS-compliant financial statements, to the executive team and board of directors.

- Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring the company maintains liquidity to meet its obligations.

- Risk Management: Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.

- Cost Control: Implement cost control measures to improve the company’s financial performance.

- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, including IFRS, tax laws, and corporate governance requirements.

- Audit: Coordinate with external auditors and oversee internal audits to ensure accuracy and compliance in financial reporting.

- Investment Analysis: Evaluate investment opportunities and provide recommendations to the executive team.

- Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate financial performance and strategy to stakeholders, including shareholders, investors, and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the financial services or consulting industry.

- Certifications: Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).

- IFRS Expertise: Extensive experience and expertise in preparing IFRS-compliant financial reports.

- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

- Strategic Thinking: Excellent strategic planning and execution capabilities.

- Leadership Skills: Proven leadership and team management skills.

- Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.

- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with financial software and tools, including ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in the financial consultancy sector.

- Knowledge of UK financial regulations and standards.

- Experience with mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and corporate finance.
